New for September, Great Adirondack Moose Festival! The Great Adirondack Moose Festival, the first Moose Festival in New York State, is sponsored by the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce and will be held Saturday and Sunday, September 18 & 19, 2010. The Moose Festival is designed to offer a purely Adirondack experience for everyone. You won’t want to miss this inaugural community-wide event, which will feature a host of Adirondack style and moose-oriented family fun activities. The Festival will include wilderness-guided hikes, an exceptional scenic driving tour, fly-fishing casting and fly tying demonstrations, Antique and Classic Car Show, Back Country Safety Program, Indian Lake Museum Open House, Adirondack Quilt Show, and souvenirs and treasures at the North Country Sidewalk Sales. A moose scavenger hunt, moose calling contest, moose related craft activities, pin the antlers on the moose, and a count the moose “poop” contest are among the activities planned for children. Capture the Festival spirit with Bruce the Moose and Smokey Bear souvenir photos. Last, but not least, bring your appetite and enjoy an Adirondack style breakfast and an old-fashioned chicken Bar-B-Q. The Great Adirondack Moose Festival promises to offer everyone a purely Adirondack experience. For further information, please visit the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce website.
